Instructor Bio

What I Teach at MJC:
I have been a math instructor at MJC since 1995 and a robotics instructor through MJC's Community Education program since 2008.  I also give robotics demonstrations to elementary school students through MJC's SEEK (Science Educational Encounters for Kids) program.

B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering, University of Michigan
M.S. in Bioengineering, University of Michigan
M.A. in Mathematics, University of Pittsburgh. 

Professional Community Service:
Since 2000, I have served as a team coach, event coordinator, judge, or "gopher" for the following outstanding SME competitions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.  Ask me about them if you or others you know would like to compete or volunteer.

Personal:
I am (happily) married to Keith Petersen, an (outstanding) ESL instructor at MJC, and have 2 (wonderful) progeny.  Hobbies and interests include reading, hiking, robotics, and autism awareness.
